Erfahren Sie alle Geheimnisse des Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea

The Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea is a lovely pan-fired green tea from Mr. Takada in Uji. While most Japanese teas are simply steamed, the Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea is pan-fired, making it more similar in taste to a Chinese green tea. This tea has a warmer flavor profile with notes of roasted soybean and baby spinach.

To evaluate the flavor of Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea, we examine both its aroma and how it interacts with the palate. We analyze whether it delivers dryness, acidity, minerality, or sweetness. Furthermore, we assess the tea's texture, also referred to as mouthfeel. Finally, given that roasted teas often share a common characteristic, we review the taste profile of this tea according to its roast level.

Schritt 1 – Beobachten des Erscheinungsbildes

The appearance of the leaves of the Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea are rather unique compared to a normal sencha. They have a pale, slightly grey hue to them, and they are rolled into curled shapes, indicating that they went through a pan-firing process.

Schritt 2 – Beurteilung des Aromas

The aroma on the wet leaves is sweet and nutty, with notes of almond and edamame. There is a sweet roasted aroma coming through towards the end of the Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea, with hint of kinako. Once the leaves have had a chance to settle, you may also notice a slight floral aroma.

Schritt 3 – Verkostung des Tees

The flavor of the Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea draws you in with a sweet, roasted soybean note and then the flavor develops further into a drier, mineral direction.

The roast is not too heavy, and the tea retains a lot of its vegetal flavor profiles with notes of edamame and baby spinach.

Schritt 4 – Beurteilung des Gaumengefühls

The texture of the Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea is thin but the structure is quite complex, beginning with a mouthwatering minerality. The finish of this tea is dry, and slightly tingly. This tingling sensation continues for a few seconds after the sip, but leaves the palate feeling clean and refreshed.

At Nio, we make sure to work with tea farmers who grow tea plants using natural and organic farming methods, without relying on pesticides or chemicals. In our experience, the taste of the tea is much smoother, and the tea fields' overall health is significantly improved. Our aim is to encourage the tea industry to adopt a more sustainable and positive approach to tea cultivation, and we hope to share these sustainably produced teas with people all around the world.

JAS Japanese Agriculture Standards logo

JAS-zertifiziert

You may notice the Japanese Agriculture Standards (JAS) label on some of our teas. This indicates that they are produced without the use of pesticides or chemicals. It’s very important for us to ensure that the tea we supply is free of pesticides and chemicals. We partner with a few larger tea farms, and for that we require that they provide the JAS label, which can be obtained through soil testing and sampling.

We also collaborate with a few smaller tea farmers who may not have the resources for the JAS certification, and we source their tea under the "pesticide-free" label. This is a way to help people discover great quality teas made by smaller producers, while still upholding our standards for sustainability and environmental conservation.

So bereiten Sie den Tee zu

To prepare the Chanoka Kamairicha Loose Leaf Green Tea you can use slightly hotter water which will bring out the warmer caramel notes of the tea.

Bezogen auf Uji

Japan

The Chanoka Kamairicha is produced in Uji, the most famous region when it comes to the production of Japanese green tea. This particular Kamairicha is grown on the farm of Chanoka in Uji at an altitude of 400 meters. This tea is unshaded, so it has a fresher character and well balanced dryness.

Sorten- und Teepflanzensorte

Chanoka Kamairicha is crafted from the Suruguwase cultivar, a rare Japanese tea variety.

  • Suruguwase

This is an early budding cultivar discovered in 1957. It is known for having a paler green color, strong fragrant aroma and a slight dryness. The leaves are perfect for rolling so it works well as an oolong or a Kamairicha.
